“…The centerpiece of the afternoon was a series of songs entitled Through the Sprig of the Myrtle by Greek-Canadian composer Constantine Caravassilis. Just as Pierre Lous reached back to Sappho (7th century B.C.) so has Caravassilis reached to the same age and another poet, Archilochos of Paros, for his inspiration…The five songs in the series are in turn jaunty, lyrical, dramatic and occasionally almost haunting.”

- James Karas, Hellenic Press - Mar 2005, Toronto

(Comment on: Through the Sprig of Myrtle, CBC Recording pre-reecital – Ariana Chris, Martin Dube, Toronto)

…With some nuances from Debussy, and an extremely interesting “Northern” feel, [Constantine’s music] left me immensely impressed, or rather conquered me. I think that composer Caravassilis is worthy of any kind of support, as he is among the most important musicians of the day.

- G. Pittas, Cyprus Radio (Astra)

Türkçe bilmemesine rağmen Sümeyra’nın çok sayıda parçasını mükemmel bir Türkçe’yle yorumlayabilen Alexandra Gravas, Yunanlı besteci Constantine Caravassilis’in Sümeyra için bestelediği eseri “for Sümeyra”yı da ilk kez Alte Oper’de seslendirdi. Türk dinleyicilerin Yükselir’in, Yunan dinleyicilerin de Gravas’ın parçalarına zaman zaman Türkçe ve Yunanca eşlik ettikleri konser, gece yarısına kadar sürdü.
